As our new Laboratory Manager you will have regional oversight of Fort Hamilton Hospital Lab, Middletown Hospital Lab, and Preble Emergency Room Laboratories (30 minute drive time from Fort Hamilton).

Your mission is to lead the day-to-day operations, team, and financial activities of the laboratory and ancillary testing under the Administrative Director for administrative matters and the Laboratory Medical Director for medical matters. Your skills and experience will be called upon to direct, monitor, and document the activities in the department to assure compliance with all regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements.

With your thorough understanding of regulatory compliance, blood banking and core clinical lab testing, you have established yourself a credible go-to-source for managing best practices necessary for an efficient lab operation and blood bank.

Educational Requirements:

Certification by one of the following mechanisms required   

• MT(ASCP) or CT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)
• BS or BA degree in clinical laboratory sciences / medical technology or related field
• Graduate degree in clinical laboratory sciences / medical technology or related field, business administration, or hospital administration preferred  

Skills, Knowledge and Experience You Offer: 

• Two-Five years or greater administrative/supervisory experience in a hospital clinical core laboratory and blood bank
• Ability to collect and evaluate data and write reports on which others will make decisions  
• Demonstrated ability to manage a lab team, lab equipment, instruments, and an efficient laboratory operation
• General knowledge of all types of clinical laboratory procedures including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis and blood banking
• Knowledge of managerial skills and techniques
• Adept in accounting, statistics, and collecting data to prepare and analyze statistical and financial reports
• Comfortable managing office routines
• Effectively execute decisions necessary to the success of the lab
• Excellent oral and written communication; with the ability to distill and tailor information to each audience
• Ability to write concise, grammatically correct, and properly formatted policies, procedures and reports
